The Serra do Cipó Tourist Region encompasses a wide area where the Serra do Cipó National Park, the Serra do Intendente State Park, the Tabuleiro Municipal Natural Park and the Morro da Pedreira Federal APA are located, also forming part of the Serra do Cipó Reserve. Biosphere of Serra do Espinhaço, recognized in 2005 by UNESCO.

 

These areas have the function of protecting several species of Brazilian flora and fauna that are threatened with extinction. Home to the Cerrado biomes to the west, Atlantic Forest to the east and Campos Rupestres, the region has an abundance of attractions open to the public, with the intention that the visitor experiences the uniqueness of the place, reflects on the importance of preservation and shares the mission of protecting this natural heritage that belongs to all of us.

Tabuleiro Municipal Natural Park

The Tabuleiro Municipal Natural Park is located in the district of Tabuleiro, in Conceição do Mato Dentro, and its highlight is the Waterfall of Tabuleiro, considered by Guia Quatro Rodas for two consecutive times as the most beautiful in Brazil. It was also elected in 2012, with more than 40,000 votes, one of the “7 Wonders of Estrada Real”.

Serra do Cipo National Park

With an area of more than 33,000 hectares, the Serra do Cipó National Park was created in 1975 and brings together several endangered species of Brazilian flora and fauna, such as: the maned wolf, the giant anteater and the jaguar .

Serra do Intendente State Park

It is a park rich in biodiversity because it is inserted in the transition between the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes, in addition to its richness in water resources.

 

It has 356 springs within its limits, and is marked by the presence of large waterfalls, considered one of the largest in the state, reaching up to 273 meters in height.

Make sure you are in good physical condition to move around the parks. The distances are long and the rugged terrain requires even more preparation and disposition.

Consider hiring a local driver to make your experience on the region's trails even richer.

Some important attractions and waterfalls are located on private properties, which charge betweenBRL 10It isBRL 50by the entrance.

You can enjoy the park in different ways. It is recommended to spend at least a week to see everything. But it is possible to plan to spend a weekend.

The region offers several types of accommodation, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, in addition to various cultural and gastronomic experiences. Consider staying longer in the region to enjoy all the experiences we have to offer.
